TRE (Tension Releasing Exercises)
with Laureen Hermann
January 25, 2024
11:00am-1:00pm
In-Person only
$40
TRE (Tension or Trauma Release Exercise) is a technique for self-healing and stress-reduction created by researcher and trauma worker, David Berceli, PhD. It works with both the physical body (your muscles and connective tissue) and the nervous system, to complete the stress response, discharge tension, and release pent-up energy from every day stress. The method consists of a set of exercises that reliably elicit neurogenic tremors: an innate vibration or shaking that is your bodies' way of completing its stress-response cycle and letting go of unprocessed holding in your body. Reported benefits: * decrease anxiety * release chronic tension * discharge of emotions behind emotional harm * increased energy and flexibility * improved sleep and mood * decrease of aches, pains, and symptoms of fibromyalgia. This workshop is suitable for ages 18 and older. The physical exercises can be modified to accommodate any individual needs. *Contraindicated for pregnancy and recent surgeries.

Join Britni for this workshop series designed to help you explore and deepen your own practice, both on and off the mat. Yoga students and teachers of all experience levels are welcome.
On the mat, we’ll look at ways to customize your practice - exploring variations of common asanas (poses) that may better serve you and each of our own unique bodies. We’ll also discuss questions and concerns that arise, and find clarity in our practice through inquiry.
Off the mat, we’ll discuss the key principles of Kriya Yoga. Kriya is a sanskrit word, which means the yoga of action or practice. Together, we’ll look at ways we can align each our own values with our lifestyle - how we practice our yoga in our daily lives, beyond the poses.
